Last updated:
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Virtual Reality Game Boule Petanque (the “Game”) on the Meta Quest platform. If you have any questions, contact us at devs@bpvr.eu.
1) Data Collection and Use
When you use the Game on Meta Quest, certain data provided through Meta platform features is collected and processed in order to enable core functionality. This includes:
- Friends list (to allow you to see and play with friends)
- Matchmaking information (to connect you with other players)
- Avatar information (to display your Meta avatar in-game)
- User_ID (to identify you within multiplayer sessions)
- Invites (to invite friends into your session)
- User_Profile information (e.g., your display name for in-game identification)
We process this data solely to provide gameplay, multiplayer, and social features. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
2) Third-Party Services
Photon (Multiplayer Networking)
We use Photon to establish multiplayer connections. Photon temporarily processes your Oculus/User ID and display name to set up and maintain real-time sessions. According to Photon’s documentation, these identifiers are not stored permanently. Learn more in Photon’s Privacy Policy.
Unity Analytics (Anonymized Usage Data)
We may collect anonymized usage data via Unity Analytics to detect and fix bugs and to improve the Game. This data can include device information, coarse location, and gameplay interactions. Unity controls what it collects and how it processes such data; see Unity’s Privacy Policy for details and opt-out options where available.
3) Data Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
4) Data Retention and Deletion
We do not permanently store personal data collected via Meta platform features on our own servers. Some processing occurs transiently to provide the Game’s functionality (e.g., live multiplayer sessions).
Requesting deletion: You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing devs@bpvr.eu. Please include your Meta display name and, if available, your User_ID to help us locate your records. We will delete any locally stored data and, where relevant, assist you in forwarding your request to Meta and Photon.
5) Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccuracies
- Request deletion
To exercise your rights, contact devs@bpvr.eu. We will respond in accordance with applicable data protection laws (including GDPR and CCPA). We do not sell personal information.
6) Legal Basis & Compliance
Where required by law, our processing is based on the necessity to perform the contract (to provide the Game and its features) and our legitimate interests in ensuring secure and effective operation. We comply with applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted at this URL with a revised “Last updated” date.
